Where Is John?

A black-and-white cartoon illustration of a boy sleeping in bed with Zs above his head. A nightstand next to the bed has a ringing alarm clock and a speaker emitting sound. Speech bubbles contain questions in English and Spanish about whether he is sleeping or awake, and the clock is ringing with the sound 'RING! RING!'

Where is John? Where is John? Are you sleeping? Are you sleeping? Frère Jacques, Frère Jacques, Dormez-vous? Dormez-vous? ¿Dónde está Juan? ¿Dónde está Juan? ¿Está durmiendo? ¿Está durmiendo?

No matter what language the translator used, the young boy did not answer. His alarm clock blasted beside his head. The translator repeated the message in English, French and Spanish.

The boy slept through it all.

By the time he finally woke up, he no longer needed a translator.

He needed a clock.
